
Yamunotri Dham Yatra
Yamunotri Temple is situated in the western region of Garhwal Himalayas at an altitude of 3,291 metres in Uttarkashi district, Uttarakhand.
Yamunotri Dham is famous for its thermal springs and glaciers is a part of famous Chota Chardham Yatra. Yamunotri is the source of Yamuna River. According to a legend, Asit Muni, a revered sage, used to reside here.
Actual source a frozen lake of ice & glacier (Champasar glacier also known as Yamunotri Glacier) located on the Kalind Mountain at the height of 4421 m above sea level, about 1 km further up, is not frequented generally as it is not accessible and hence the shrine has been located on the foot of the hill. The approach is extremely difficult and pilgrims therefore offer pooja at the temple itself.

Saptarishi Kund Trek the Real Source of River Yamuna
Saptarishi Kund Trek at an altitude of 4421 meters above the sea level and it is considered as one of the most difficult treks inthe Himalayas. This glacial lake is half kilo meter long, dark bluish in colourand the main source of Yamuna River. The Kund is fed by Champasar glacier and it surrounded by rocky glaciers.
Surya Kund
Surya Kund is a hot water spring situated at near Yamunotri temple. This thermal spring gets its name from Yamuna river which is considered to be the offspring of Surya or the God as per Hindu mythology. Surya Kund serves as a holy place as it is located in the vicinity of Yamunotri shrine.
Divya Shila
It is a small hot spring in which pilgrims can dip rice or potatoes in a cloth and get it cooked as prasad. There are folks who will help in dipping to avoid rush. It is just next to the shrine of goddess yamuna. Usually pilgrims take a dip in surya kund, which takes away all the tiredness of the trek, and then take their offerings to divya shila and later circumbulate goddess yamuna. If you can withstand cold water, a dip in river yamuna also can be done
